Daylight Savings Means Alarm and Detector Checks
An extra hour of sleep? Yes, please! Say what you want about night fall coming at 5pm, if you have kids, you will take any extra hour of sleep any way you can get it! And so, this weekend marks the end of Daylight Savings time. It also marks the end of October (National Fire Prevention Month) and serves as a biannual reminder for all of us to check the batteries in our smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
If you are in a safety mode, we also recommend taking the opportunity to review your home’s fire escape plan and practice it it with all members of the family. We remind everyone to practice safe home heating this winter season. This includes keeping space heaters away from Christmas trees, drapes and other flammable items, getting your chimney inspected and of course, never leaving any temporary heat source unattended.
All of us at the Mauger & Co., Inc. Family of Companies want the safest home environment for all of our customers and urge you to reach out if you have any questions about how we can help ensure your family’s safety through our services.
